The free edition is the same code, and it does not do GST. That is the line between free and paid in India: tax, e-Invoicing and payroll start at SME Cloud. A company with more than one plant or entity is usually quoting Nova. The Oracle licence inside it is part of that quote, not a second invoice.

The rest of the budget

What is not in the licence

A price per user is the smaller half of an ERP budget. These are the other lines, and which editions carry them.

Implementation
Quoted separately, in days, against a written scope: your entities, roles, masters and documents configured, power users trained, a hypercare period after go-live. It is kept apart from the licence so the two numbers can be judged on their own.
The database
Pluto installs on PostgreSQL or Oracle, your choice and your licence. Nova includes Oracle Database SE2. Galaxy includes the Enterprise Edition with the in-memory option. Neither is a separate purchase.
Hosting
Included in SME Cloud. Pluto is yours to host. Nova and Galaxy run in the cloud or on your own servers, and the quotation follows that choice.
Support
Pluto has no support desk; it is open source, and largely up to date with patches. SME Cloud carries unlimited support tickets. Nova comes with a paid support subscription, from Onfinity and its partners.
Training
Online training is included in Pluto and SME Cloud. Power-user training on an implementation is part of that project's days.
The India localisation
GST with CGST, SGST and IGST, e-Invoicing and payroll are in SME Cloud and above. They are not in the free edition, and that is the honest reason most Indian companies do not stay on it.

Nova and Galaxy

What to bring for a quotation

Nova and Galaxy are quoted, not listed. A quotation arrives faster, and closer to the final number, when it starts with these.

How many people will use it

Everyone who logs in, including the shop floor and the field. Not only the accounts team.

How many companies and plants

Each legal entity and each plant it must run, and which of them trade with each other.

Cloud, or your own servers

Both are quoted. Say which, or ask for both and compare.

What runs today, and on what

GST filing, e-Invoicing, payroll, manufacturing, and the systems or spreadsheets each of them lives in now.

Who is implementing

Onfinity, or a partner. Partners earn 20% of the licence price on every edition and every renewal, and quote their own implementation.

When it has to be live

A financial year start is the usual answer. Say so; the plan is built backwards from it.

Six questions, answered plainly

Is the free edition really free?
Yes. Pluto is open source, downloadable, and runs the core modules. It has no GST, e-Invoicing or payroll, no hosting and no support desk. Those are the lines between free and ₹1,999.
Does ₹1,999 include hosting?
Yes. SME Cloud is hosted, with a staging instance and unlimited support tickets, at a price per user per month.
Who is a user, and who is an employee?
A user is someone who runs the system: the HR department, accounts, stores. ₹1,999 a month each. An employee is someone the system pays and serves: payroll and self-service are ₹70 a month for each of them. A company pays for both, and they are different people.
Is the Oracle licence extra on Nova?
No. Nova includes Oracle Database SE2 and Galaxy includes the Enterprise Edition. The database is inside the quotation.
Is implementation included?
No. It is scoped and quoted separately, in days, so the licence and the work can each be judged on their own.
Which edition for more than one plant?
Nova. It is the edition built for companies running several plants or entities, and the one to price when there is a second site.

Ask for the quotation with the plants counted.

Bring the users, the entities and the plants. A quotation built on those is the one that survives the project.
